THIYAGI GOVINDA PATHAR MEMORIAL TROPHY TOURNAMENT


RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE TOURNAMENT

1. The tournament viz Thiyagi Govindapathar Memorial Trophy tournament which is sponsored by M/S G. Ganesan & co and M/S Senthil Jewellery is open to the member clubs/Associate member clubs of the Association who shall abide by the rules framed here under.

2. The tournament committee under the direction of the Executive Committee shall control and conduct the Tournament. All the matches shall be played in accordance with the laws of the game as promulgated by the International Board and published by FIFA.

3. The tournament committee will draw the fixtures, dates and timings for conduct of the tournament. 4. All the matches shall be played in the Indira Gandhi Stadium or else where at the discretion of the tournament committee.

5. The duration of Game shall be two equal periods of 45 minutes each with an interval of 10 minutes rest during half time.

6. if a match has to be suspended by the referees as a result of incidents such as walkout by the team, lack of order, spectator invading the ground the tournament committee shall determine the action to be taken over the incidents. All decision taken by the committee shall be final and shall not be subjected to appeal. If a match abandoned due to natural conditions like bad weather, heavy rains, light failure or other condition beyond the control, only the part of the match which remains to be played shall be played on the day following the abandoned match. The league committee shall decide the time and venue of this match.

7. The matches shall be supervised by the qualified referees as far as possible and the Association has the right to utilize the services of other competent person’s as referees in case of need.

8. Teams are required to take the field at the field at the notified time. However a grace period of 10 minutes will be allowed. The team failing to take the field even after the grace time, it is not only liable to be scratched, but also liable for such disciplinary action as may be taken by the tournament committee/Executive Committee.

9. Any team failing to field a minimum of seven players throughout the duration of the match shall be declared as having lost the match besides facing such disciplinary actions as the Tournament Committee/The Executive Committee may deem it necessary.

10. A team which cannot fulfill its engagement or unable to raise a team for scheduled match shall inform the Association at least 48 hours before the match with full reason thereof. The tournament committee reserves the right to reject it. A team which fails to turn up for reserves the right to reject it. A team which fails to turn up for the match without prior intimation to the Association or gives walk over shall be declared as having lost the match.
